During the months of Mid January through Mid March you will find the Qualifier
docked in Isla Mujeres Mexico. This is a small island located off the
coast of Cancun. We are here for some of the worlds best and most consistent
Atlantic Sailfishing as well as enjoying wonderful tropical paradise
Sailfishing is second to none with many days in the high teens to mid thirties with our average in 2004-08 being 17 per day. We fish stand up rods made by Whalebone tackle, shimano trynos reels and 20 pound suffix line and offer lighter tackle upon request. Circle hooks are used exclusively.
People find Isla not only a great fishing destination but also a welcome
winter break. Visit the north end of the island with a beautiful white
sandy beach and gin clear water. Rent a golf cart and explore the south
end which is 4 miles away and watch the sea crash on the rocky coastline
or swim with dolphins. At night you can walk downtown to a festive street
with open restaurants and local music. You will find that you are in paradise.
After flying into Cancun you take a shuttle to the Ultra Mar ferry terminal
and after a 15 minute ferry ride you arrive on the island. We are located
just to the North at Enrique Lima’s Dock and Gas station. This is
the only gas station downtown. Cabs on the island are around $1.50. You
will find with the hotel links that it is easy to walk just about anywhere
after checking in. We look forward to returning to the island this year and enjoying
paradise once again.
