After a cancelation of the the Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament because of health issues I decided to fish my boys. My twin boys Charles and Brown are 8yr old and have fished with me for the past three years. We were joined by Rob Warren , Paul Mann , Keith Henry and Chuck Linder. The tournament follows IGFA rules with the exception being that you are allowed one hook and pass.
Brown was first up and caught and release his first Blue Marlin, which was the first fish of the tournament seven minutes after lines in. Brown then caught a sail along with Rob out of a triple.Charles caught a sail. Then Brown released his second Blue Marlin of the day. We hooked another sail clearing our lines which Charles caught .
Our second day of fishing was slower Charles catching two sails and Brown a single sail.
Our last day of the tournament, Brown caught a sail and two white and Charles a sail.
We ended up 14th with 1200points out of 72 boats .Both 2nd and 3rd had 1600 points with billfish being 100 pts a piece. Only four fish away. I am a proud father for the way my boys held their own and for my friends
who gave them the support they needed to compete in one of the most completive billfish tournaments on the east coast.
